In a study published in the journal Obesity, the researchers studied 93 obese women assigned to one of two 12-week diet plans. The first eating plan required the women to consume 700 calories for breakfast, lunch and dinner 500 200. The second plan reversed that order, the women need to eat breakfast to 200 calories for lunch and 500 700 at dinner.
The types of food in the 700-calorie meal were the same, whether eaten at breakfast or dinner, and include foods such as cakes and biscuits.
Overall, women who consumed their biggest meal for breakfast 17.8 pounds and lost 3 inches off their waist, while the group that lost their largest meal eaten dinner off only 7.3 pounds on average and 1.4 inches her waist .
